A First Time Bride's Guide to Wedding Decor in the GTA

If this is your first wedding, you have probably already discovered that there is no good shortcut for figuring out decor. Here is what we tell every first time bride in the GTA when she sits down with us.

Start with how you want the day to feel, not how you want it to look. Words like soft, intimate, lush, modern, garden, romantic. Those guide a designer faster than a Pinterest board.

Book your decor early. In Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, and the surrounding GTA, peak Saturdays book out twelve months ahead. Once you have a venue and a date, decor and photography are the next two vendors to lock in.

Understand the three big cost drivers. Florals are the largest. Backdrops and drapery are the second. Specialty rentals like a runway carpet, gold floral stands, or a photo booth setup with backdrop are the third. Trim from rentals first if the budget tightens. Keep the florals strong.

Ask every quote what is and is not included. Setup, teardown, travel, and damage waivers add up quickly. Our packages include setup and teardown by the team that designed your wedding. Most do.

Decide on three non negotiables. For most of our brides those are the entrance arrangement, the sweetheart table backdrop, and the centerpieces. Build the rest of the design language around those three.
